Cabling and Bracing
Support for trees worth preserving.
Cabling and bracing systems can reduce movement and provide supplemental support for selected trees with weak unions, multiple stems, or valuable limbs.
When support systems may help
- Co-dominant stems with included bark or weak attachment
- Large limbs with a history or likelihood of splitting
- Mature trees where preservation is a reasonable goal
- Structural concerns that pruning alone cannot fully address
- Trees near homes, gathering areas, drives, or other targets
An informed decision
Support begins with an assessment.
A cable or brace is not the right solution for every defect. We first consider the tree's condition, structure, location, expected loads, and whether the proposed system can meaningfully reduce risk.
Support systems also require periodic inspection. Axis Tree Care Company will explain the purpose of the installation, its limitations, and the follow-up the tree may need.
Concerned about a weak union or heavy limb?
